If i put a decal on my hi hat with it affect the sound of it?

A good friend of mine gave me some zildjian hi hats. The logo has come off but i would like to put a decal on it (black Zildjian logo). Will this affect the sound of my hi hats?

Well, I think it would have an effect, but unless you are really into perfection, you might not care or notice. It’s gonna sound like a hi hat anyway. On the other hand, zildjians are pretty nice, and one might say that it would be a sin to tamper with the sound of it.

A slightly more expensive way to do it would be to get it lasered on, or cheaply just get a stencil and spray paint it.
