New Age Of Computers Free Of Wires
The advancements in computer technology have been staggering over the last couple of decades years. The majority of the advances have been in the size of the products, in some instances reducing what would have previously taken up a warehouse to something the size of stamp. This has meant that computers are great deal lighter and more mobile and also means that more technology and mil-spec cable and wires can be fitted in without compromising on overall size.
One technological advancement that has been embraced over the past few years is wireless connectivity. Most notably this technology has been used in wireless keyboards and mice, and also wireless internet connection. However, most computers are still built using wires or Winchester electronics to connect the various components and this has its draw backs. To start with, wires often get in the way and limit what you can connect when making additions to the motherboard. Further to this, they often degrade over a period of time and cause malfunctioning of the computer.
There is a new dawn on its way however of computer that do not rely on cables and instead each components is able to communicate wirelesses with its neighbours. For example the hard drive can communicate with the processor and the modem without lots of internal wires and can be self contained without having lots of input ports which are vulnerable to dust and moisture. It will also mean that all the elements of computer needn’t necessity be all together and can instead be spread out over a room. This comes in useful if you need mobility of your hard-drive or disc drive, or just want to connect another piece of hardware without opening the computer up.
The technology is still in testing stages but will be included in a number of computer systems by 2012 along with the new trackside communications cable technology for HD computer monitors.
