Which Trek bike…7.6fx or 7.5fx?
Ok so I am going to buy a bike, mainly to commute, but also on established tow paths at weekends. I’m a fan of treks, although currently riding a 2001 trek mountain bike, seen better days! Now contemplating between 7.5 (2007 model) or 7.6 (2008 model). For a novice rider/commuter, do you think I would be able to tell the difference?! Any advice welcome!
Those are two of the main bikes I was considering myself, and I am also a novice. I have a 7.6fx on order. It is a little bit lighter than the 7.5. I know it has a carbon seat post, where the 7.5 I believe is aluminum. The other big difference I was told was that the 7.6fx comes with clipless pedals, but I guess you can add them to the 7.5fx. The 7.6 should also shift a little better. It has a better Shimano derailleur. The 7.6fx is about $250 more than the 7.5fx. I think they are both great choices. For the little bit extra money, I went with the 7.6fx. I can’t wait until it comes in!!!
