Slalom Waterskiing

Will snowboarding be easier to learn since I’m already almost an expert skiier?

I’m 17 and have skiied since I was 5, I also slalom waterski and wakeboard fairly well and want to learn to snowboard for a few days this year in colorado. Will 2 or 3 days be enough to at least be a beginner and have fun snowboarding? I’m planning on snowboarding 2 days and skiing like 10.

The only way that skiing will help you is that you already know what it feels like to slide on snow. Other than that it’s completely different movements to control your board. The wakeboarding might help a bit, but again, you’re being pulled in wakeboarding so it’s different muscles and gravity that controls your board.

It might be a bit easier to learn but I don’t think it will just happen automatically. You should still take a lesson and it will probably take you the first day to get it figured out and if you’re only snowboarding for two days I’d expect that you wouldn’t be doing anything much harder than a green or easy blue.
