Wakesurf Board

Extremely Important Wakeboard Surfing Equipment Advice
Wakesurfing is a modern sport that combines the best aspects of surfing and water skiing into one enjoyable activity. Like any sport there is certain, specific, equipment that when used makes the experience more rewarding and safer. The two things to pay careful attention to when selecting the right gear are the type of board and the pull rope.
In regards to the correct type of rope the three characteristics to be aware of are the thickness, the length, and the softness of the rope. A good wakesurfing rope usually has a handle and is short and thick so the riders can pull themselves into the sweet spot of the surf wake. The softer the material the rope is made of, the less chance it can injure the rider should it whip or jerk back. A softer rope also allows for longer ride times because there is less occurrence of rope burn.
The second important piece of equipment to consider is the proper board. Wakesurf boards are divided into two styles, thruster boards, and skim boards. Thruster boards are long and slim and typically look more like traditional surf boards. These boards provide better traction and are ideal for the beginner. Skim boards are shorter and wider. They are great for tricks and aerial acrobatics. Height of the rider is never really an issue as board lengths vary from 4’2″ to about 5’6.” Boards are made from many different materials and can be made of anything from cedar to carbon. Prices for boards on average start around $200.00 and go as high as $500.00.
In summary, no matter what your skill level or budget there are some things that it is wise to look for when choosing the ideal wakesurfing gear?
